Planning permission has been granted for a new build house for a textile artist in North Uist. The house lies on the shore of a sea loch inlet and overlooks the hills of North Uist to the North and West. The design features an open plan living space with a mezzanine artist’s studio above. Vaulted ceilings provide display space for artwork and large window apertures frame the views of the hills and the loch. The main house will be clad in Scottish Larch cladding and the entrance porch will be clad in natural stone which will be excavated from the site.
