Planning permission and building warrant has been obtained for a new build family home in North Uist.  The house is situated on the West coast of the island and enjoys views over the nearby shoreline and back towards the hills to the East.  The kitchen/dining area is open plan with a partial partition to separate the living area at the South end of the house.  A small snug opens into the living room to provide extra playspace for the kids and a spare room for guests.  The first floor accommodates three bedrooms and an en suite shower room.  A small study area on the first floor landing overlooks the dining area.  A rooflight above allows additional daylight down to the ground floor.  Views over the shore are framed by square format dormer windows in the first floor bedrooms.  The house will be clad in Scottish larch (with some areas painted in red) and will be heated using an air source heat pump.
